CITIZENS FOR TERM LIMITS & ACCOUNTABILITY COMMITTEE

Our mission has never changed--------protection of citizens' rights and accountability of  elected officials.
 

*    November, 2000 - Term limits for county commissioners passed by 74%.
*    Winter, 2002 - Attended  Charter Review Commission meetings
*    March, 2003 -  Campaigned against the half-cent sales tax increase
*    August, 2003 - Campaigned against the 10 % utility tax proposal.
*    October, 2003 -  Initiated charter amendment petition drive for election of                 county commissioners in single-member districts.
*    November, 2004 - Single-member elections passed by 64%
*    May & June, 2005- Sponsored two citizens' forums, one with Commissioner McGovern attending to answer citizens' questions.
*    Fall 2005 and Winter 2006 - Campaigned against the establishment of a Clay County Transportation Authority
 
*    Fall 2006 - Campaigned against the charter proposal to add two at large commissioners.
