ABOUT US
The Citizens for Term Limits and Accountability Committee is a non-partisan grass-roots organization dedicated to the pursuit of accountability in local government. Legally defined and registered through the Supervisor of Elections office, we are a political committee. This means that we support issues, not candidates. We believe in the old, but not outdated, principle that government exists to serve its citizens. We believe that term limits, as well as other reforms, tend to open a closed system and encourage government leaders to become more responsive to citizens.
The CTLAC is working to ensure that our quality of life is enhanced by sustainable growth and protected by responsible leaders. To do this, our activities center around two general themes, as they relate to the BCC, the constitutional officers, and the school board:
Accountability:
|
1. Term limits. |
|
2. Single-member district elections of county commissioners. |
|
3. Code of Ethics for elected officials. |
|
4. Insuring checks and balances. |
|
5. Promoting the ideal of elected officials as public servants. |
| 6. Other reforms. |
Quality of Life:
| 1. Smart growth strategies |
| 2. Environmental issues. |
| 3. School Concurrency. |
| 4. Other reforms. |
